PGN Ohio State University Ventures to Chicago for a Professional Trip
The Epsilon Gamma Chapter of PGN at The Ohio State University recently partook in a professional trip in Chicago. This trip allowed members to learn more about different possible career paths in business, as well as future companies they may want to work at. While in Chicago, the members of their chapter had the chance to meet and interact with members of the Michigan State Chapter of PGN as well as PGN alumni in the area.

Day 1 of site visits began with Grant Thornton, a public accounting firm specializing in tax, audit, and advisory services. For many members, this was their first time stepping into a corporate office, and it proved to be a valuable experience. They learned about Grant Thornton's operations and the various industries they serve in.
Following the warm hospitality at Grant Thornton, our members proceeded to their second site visit of the day at Arrive Logistics, a third-party logistics company. They were welcomed by Liam Downing, a recent graduate, who gave them a tour of the office. Our participants gained insights into sales roles and the functioning of a third-party logistics company.
After the two site visits, our members engaged in a thought-provoking debrief session, discussing differences in office culture and the types of work at both companies. In the evening, they met with PGN Michigan State chapter members and alumni. This interaction allowed Directors and VPs to learn about the other chapters' activities and reflect on their strengths and areas for improvement.
Day 2 of site visits started with Accenture, a consulting firm focusing on technology and innovation. They explored multiple office floors, showcasing some of Accenture's latest technological developments. Our members participated in a panel discussion featuring Ohio State graduates, including PGN alumni, providing them with valuable insights into working at Accenture across different service lines.
The second visit of the day was with an angel investor who is an Ohio State graduate. Although unconventional compared to traditional company site visits, this experience taught our members about calculated risk-taking and the diverse paths to success.
