"Over the course of the Neuroscience in Paris program, I delved into a world of neuroscience, consciousness, and the intricacies of the human brain. I had the unique opportunity to immerse myself in a series of thought-provoking articles, engaging presentations, and hands-on experiences, which I would have never come across had it not been for the program and PGN’s unyielding support.

Among the articles that intrigued me were those on aphantasia, the numerical preferences of fruit flies, and the potential of ketamine in treating depression. Attending discussions on consciousness and visual perceptions unveiled the intricacies of our cognitive experiences. Encountering a spring concert series that translated colors into melodies was a sensorial journey, while hands-on experiences with EEG, fMRI, and TMS technology at the Paris Brain Institute enhanced my understanding of the tools used to study the brain and treat various conditions. Moreover, collaborative experiences with peers created lasting memories and friendships. The macaron workshop—a delightful fusion of baking and cultural immersion—stands out as a highlight that brought us together outside of the academic sphere, while fulfilling a culinary dream of mine.”

“As the four weeks drew to a close, I found myself reflecting on the profound impact of this journey. The program not only enriched my knowledge of neuroscience but also further ignited my passion for understanding the intricate mysteries of the brain. The blend of scientific exploration, engaging discussions, and hands-on experiences transformed my perspective and left me with a sense of fulfillment and inspiration. This journey through the realms of neuroscience and consciousness will undoubtedly shape my academic and personal pursuits for years to come. Yet, I couldn’t have been a part of it all without the generous help of the PGN Scholars Foundation, which I am incredibly grateful for."
