The University of Michigan Takes a Professional Trip
The PGN Delta Phi chapter traveled to Chicago, IL for a professional development trip in late March. This trip offered members the opportunity to explore career options in business, learn about recruiting timelines, network with PGN alumni, and experience the city of Chicago.

Upon arrival, the chapter hosted a networking dinner at Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria where they met alumni from PGN Michigan. The attendees learned where our alumni ended up working, how they got there, and aspects of their professional life that they enjoy. They also shared valuable advice for how our members can achieve their professional goals and offered themselves as resources during recruiting and career planning. Current members at every stage of their early career – whether first-year students still exploring career paths or fourth-year students preparing to move cities and begin a full-time role – found this opportunity immensely beneficial.

The following day consisted of visits to the Chicago headquarters of four companies covering marketing, banking, consulting, and entrepreneurship/startups. The attendees visited PepsiCo, BMO, Bain & Company, and FOXTROT. At each company, they attended information sessions, learned about internship and full-time opportunities, engaged in conversation with Michigan alumni, and received office tours. The members also got a bit of insight into opportunities in supply chain management, technology, human resources, and other roles available at these companies.
After the company visits, members had some free time to explore the city and spend time with each other at a social gathering during the night. Many look forward to applying for roles at the companies visited and staying in touch with the alumni they met. Overall, members enjoyed their time on this trip, learning and immersing in the corporate world and gaining experience for their professional development.
